"My parents came to visit my husband and me.
While there, I told them we were going to go to
a church picnic then dinner. My mom knew it
was a lie. My dad didn't and he is NOT a
churchgoer. But he was polite and said ok.
We lived west of Cleveland in Ohio and took the
train system into cleveland. While changing
trains, I said to my dad (who surely had
noticed all the people wearing cleveland browns
tshirts), "Dad, would you rather go to a
Browns game than the church picnic?".
Dad is a BIG football fan. But he said
"Whatever you want to do is fine
honey.".
I said, "Well, what if I said I have 4
Browns tickets, for their very first game
tonight in their brand new stadium?"
He said "No you don't",
smiling broadly. I said "Yep, I do!
We're going to the Browns Game, not a
church picnic".
He still didn't believe me and insisted
on seeing the tickets. I showed them to him.
We had a great time that night at the game! I
was thrilled to finally fool him"
