"When I first moved in with the man who is now
my husband I came across his extra debit card
while doing some laundry. A few weeks later I
got a speeding ticket and didn't want him
to know about it. So, I decided to pay it
without telling him. There was just one
problem. I didn't have the cash. So,
remembering the card, I withdrew the cash from
the ATM and paid the fine. I had planned on
telling him when he got home from work the next
morning that I borrowed the money for something
else. But when he got home he was raving mad!
He had been to the ATM and seen the balance. He
thought his ex-wife had taken the money!
Apparently he had not removed her name from the
account yet. I let her take the blame and never
told him that it was me."
